QUOT: (kwot) Noun and collective noun.

A commonplace occurrence – any feature or characteristic of ordinary life which is ever present or predictable in given circumstances – a generalisation to this effect. From ‘QUOTIDIAN’ meaning ‘everyday’ or ‘ordinary’

Coming back to your computer to find you’ve left something resting on the keyboard which has typed you out 27 pages of ‘J’s

And then Spellcheck asks whether you realise there is no such word and suggests that ‘jejune’ or ‘juju’ might be the word you were looking for. And there you were just wondering just how long it would be before a computer quot would come up because there are a lot of them about. At least here we have a physical explanation for this computer’s spontaneous action , but most computer quot is about not needing any external stimulus to do things and acting off their own bat and generally being a law unto themselves.
